Illustrator Project

This is a simple outline for the CCSF gamer group poster. I wasn't looking at doing anything complex or too detailed, I just wanted to get a base document out that anyone from the group could take and do their own spin with. Just as it is simple, I made sure to use all the tools required for this project.

Pen Tool - Used to fill in the crevices in the hand with a single color instead of the overall gradient the poster uses.

Type Tool - Used to type out the name of the group.

Shape Tool - Used to get the gradient to cover the whole of the poster.

The Beginnings of the Internet War

So as the name of my collage indicates, this is to represent not only my interests, but why the internet is just not a safe place. And yes, it is because a Japanese RPG hero chose to tick off a Space Marine, that's the exact reason....... what? No, I'm not bluffing! But onto the specifics; this collage, while more that for the interbutz, does still represent me in one question: Who can fight the most for my attention. The back drop is of course my home town of San Francsico. The dark, almost apocalyptic sky is meant to represent the type of stories I enjoy reading about. The character to the bottom left and the flying Nintendo 6 cartridges are meant to represent my love for video games, both of retro and recent titles. The character to the bottom right is meant to represent my enjoyment of both the fiction, but also the table top game I have gotten into as of recent: WarHammer 40,000. The comic bubble represents my interests in comic books and manga. And the TV has a dual purpose. The first is meant to represent how I go about playing my games. It's second, and most important purpose, is to show how the scum of the internet probably view the world.

I used a good portion of the tools to get this done. The specific tools I used were paint, marquee, magnetic lasso, magic wand, eraser, eyedropper, brush, text, paint bucket, smudge, burn, and sponge.
